April 8th, 2024 – the end of the world.
Some people believe that. I don’t.
I just want to know why people say stuff like this. What leads them to the conclusion that planet earth is doomed and it’s all over for the human race? We’ve had plenty of solar eclipses before. What’s different about this one?
Also, who is saying that it’s going to happen? Over the years, who has historically said that it’s going to happen? According to my research, it’s religious people. If my understanding about religion is correct, and it often is, the act of saying something is going to happen is much like willing it, or praying for it to happen. Religious people believe that speaking something into existence is a possibility. So, why all the doom and gloom? If the earth and everyone in it are sacred, life is sacred, and saving people’s lives from the torture of hell is so important, why would these same people desire to bring about the end of human life? It makes no sense.
