Precious Photos

As children, my family would sometimes pull out the old photo albums and tell stories about days long since passed. I have good memories of those times.

These days, most photos aren’t physical, printed objects, but digital pixels on a screen. We take pictures on our phones, we keep them stored on physical drives, but we don’t look at them like we used to. We share them with people on our social media profiles.

Photos have become fleeting, immediate documents of the present, not memories of the past. Our Instagram accounts may have hundreds of files, but do we rewind the clock and review them? Honestly, if another person goes back through your old posts and reacts to each one within a short amount of time, it’s considered creepy and disturbing.

I don’t know how long these image files will stay in this place, but at least I’ll temporarily be able to show them to the world.

My loved ones mean more than the world to me. I love seeing their faces at all ages. Even though the image from Blade Runner is a silly meme, they truly are precious photos to me.
